Workshops: Mediation

An introduction to the practical skills and strategies needed to fairly reconcile disputes.

What Is Mediation?

By definition, mediation is the intervention between conflicting parties to promote reconciliation, settlement or compromise. Unlike litigation or arbitration, mediation allows the parties to define their own resolution.

About the Program

This is a two-day, hands-on introduction to mediation. You will learn:

  • Practical skills and strategies to fairly reconcile disputes

  • How to realistically appraise conflict as opportunity and contrast mediation with other resolution alternatives.

Through a series of role-playing exercises, you'll discover how to:

  • Stimulate creative thinking

  • Diffuse emotionalism

  • Guide the conflict resolution process

Continuing Education Credits

Our two-day Mediation workshop is approved for learning/legal credits by  the Ohio Supreme Court and several professional boards. Contact us for details.

Who Should Attend

Anyone interested in learning how to fairly resolve disputes in the workplace, within their families or in the community, should attend the General Mediation Workshop.
